Let the sea take away all the evil

A documentary by Laura Vandewynckel

On Itaparica island in the north-east of Brazil, people long for change. However, they are faced with an impasse. A bridge that promises to bring prosperity is long overdue and then there is the eternal horse and speaker’s plague… When one day a 2-legged horse and a self-propelled speaker invade the island, it seems, change is about to happen. “Let the sea take away all evil” is a playful social documentary in which a creative team of local and foreign artists introduce mechanical puppets to evoke social dialogue.
